Would like to know if ANYONE can find (and ill try to describe it) the pre FOX WJBK logo ... which was the double 2 logo in a box sort of in an unusual slant with WJBK-TV underneathe it

Did Channel 2 ever air CBS News Nightwatch, which was a late news program which aired overnight on many of the CBS affiliates? I was asking, since I did not live in Detroit in the early 1980s.

I found an old WJBK tape from 1984, where Channel 2 used the local version of CBS' We've Got the touch from the 1984-1985 season ("You and Channel 2, We've Got the Touch"). On that promo, they showed old Channel 2 personalities, as well as a couple of CBS shows. On them, I think they mentioned 25,000 Pyramid, which was a CBS gameshow that aired on CBS daytime back in the 1980s.

My question is, was 1984 the year WJBK finally decided to air 25,000 Pyramid? I...

Ronnie Klemmer from PM Magazine and was it Robbie Timmons? I'm in Los Angeles now, rest of the family is in Fmtn Hills. I'm out here the first coupla years at USC and this guy I know introduces me to this young kid - turns out it's Ronnie Klemmer's son. What a coincidence! I guess Ronnie was/is a producer out here.

And what about Chef Tell - "lil bit a salt, lil bit a peba."

I grew up on the west side - Warren Ave and Southfield Freeway on Faust.

Like NBC, I know that CBS showed game shows from 9 am to noon. My question is, did WJBK-TV show any of those shows (50,000 Pyramid, etc)?

Do you guys remember when WJBK-TV used that phrase, during CBS' station ID in the early 1990s? That was a really good way of letting everyone know that WJBK was a strong CBS affiliate. That was when Channel 2 was at its best, before it became Fox in 1994.

Do you guys remember, when the NBA Playoffs and Finals were on Ch 2 in the 1970s and 1970s, when it was CBS? CBS used to have the rights to the NBA, and IMO, they had the best coverage.

Those were the golden moments for me, and I really do miss that.

BTW, didn't WJBK-TV have extra sports-related programs for the Bad Boy Pistons in the late 1980s (1987-1989)? I know that Ch 2 was the exclusive home of the Pistons during that time, when the Bad Boys were dominating the NBA, and...

Did anyone else, besides me, watch THE WALTONS every Thursday night at 8:00 PM on channel 2? I loved that show! Especially the early episodes. First there was the movie THE HOMECOMING, which I loved too, then THE WALTONS TV series. Great stuff!!!

Ch. 2 fired him, rumour has it, because of his Southern accent.

He ended up ending his own life a short time later. Unless I am mistaken, he had hung himself. And I think his family sued...

I remember when I was really young watching this on some channel--almost seems like it was CBC channel 9, but it was prolly more like on NBC or something. Anyone else used to watch it on Detroit TV? I loved it!
