According to the Free Press, UPN and WB are combining into one network knows as The CW. In Detroit, channel 50 will be the affiliate, leaving 20 to be an independent. This could be exciting, hopefully giving Detroit an independent so badly needed (WADL does not count). They will already be on the rght track with the Pistons, and hopefully we can see some more reruns, movies, and some local programming. Even better would be seeing the classic WXON calls returning!
Check...

A recent discussion on a Detroit Tigers Mailing List that I'm on reintroduced the memory of The Norm Cash Show. I can recall watching this when I was a kid - early '70s if I remember correctly.

To the best of my memory, it was a chat show hosted by Norm, and featured guests mostly from the sports world. I think the theme tune ("I'm A Swinger") was sung by Norm himself.

Can anyone out there fill in a few details on this program? What channel was it on? How often was it...

Does anyone remember ON tv? It was a subscription type of premium movie tv broadcast from WXON Channel 20 UHF about 1979 or 1980. Every night at 8:00 p.m. the announcer on WXON would advise the viewer that they were about to experience a "unique movie watching experience" available only to "ON" tv subscribers. I think the decoder box cost about 20 dollars a month to rent back then. I never did see an actual movie an a legitimate decoder box (only one person in our...

Anyone remember this show from the late 60's or very early 70's? It was on CH-62 in the middle of the afternoon when the station would first sign on for the day. There was a pair of hosts (young gal and young guy) who hosted pop music songs of the day which were played while clips of old movies were shown. They had some good clips to go with Uncle Albert as I recall. I guess that dates the show a bit.
