Yes and no. The video arcade was called the Red Baron years after the restaurant called Red Barn went out of business. Same building.

I remember a fast food joint on Wayne rd. between Ann
Arbor Trail and Cowan called "The Hungry Penguin", with a statue of a penguin wearing a tophat. anyone? |

Oh, how I miss Red Barn fried chicken! In all these years since, I haven't found any place that comes close to that particular flavor. I also loved me a good Big Barney. Our nearest Red Barn was on Eight Mile Road near Ryan (it eventually turned into a Szechuan Chinese restaurant, and then a used car lot), the next closest at 12 Mile and Dequindre (anyone remember when that locale became The Ribbery?)

Many years ago there was a Suzy Q fish and chips joint near my house; the building seemed ready to go for many months but remained unopened. When they finally did open, I noticed that some of the napkins and carry-out boxes were marked "Hungry Penguin" and had that top-hatted logo you mentioned. I wonder if Suzy Q bought them out or something?
