These are all the ones I've actually visited:
East Tawas (which I've actually seen a movie at)
Alpena (North of town)
Traverse City (Traverse and Sundowner)
I know it ain't a lot, but I'm not old enough to drive yet...

Which drive-in graveyards (not just in Michigan) have you actually visited?

I visited the Lakes in Brighton before the site was cleared.

Bob, are you ready for a long list!?
I visited the Lakes quite a few times before it went down, have many pics, no artifacts. Also have (daytime) video of the Lakes while it still in operation, thanks to Daryl. |

Good evening, I was curious about the locations of the old Stadium Drive in and Division in GR? Also, where's the site of the Portage. I realize these probably have other buildings up on their site, but would like to drive by them sometime.
Thanks, Jeff |

The Portage was at the corner of Winter Drive and Portage ROad, south of I-94.
The Stadium was at Hillside and River just off Alpine. The Division was on Division across from 56th St. Cleveland rocks... so do the towns on the San Andreas fault.

I vaguely remember seeing the abandoned marquee for the old Woodland in the late 1990's. Too bad I wasn't on a drive-in kick back then, as I might have helped myself to the fence letters...

Hey Bobby, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the case that you really don't remember actually going to any DI's at all growing up (but your mom corroborated the fact that you had at least been to one)? If so, how is it that you're so into them now? I mean, I think that's really cool that you are, don't get me wrong, I'm just curious as to what got you into the whole thing so much, seeing as you don't actually remember ever going to one (if I remember correctly, that is). Just curious!

I remember when they placed 29th St through the old Woodland. There was a brief period where you could drive underneath the screen. I regret not having my camera t the time.

Just curious! I have no idea. It may have been passing by the rotted-out snack bar in Tawas for the 4000th time, as well as seeing the Woodland marquee, and some other drive-in bits back in the day... Or maybe it had something to do with my longtime interests in other pieces of Americana, like Stuckey's, Ben Franklin, etc. Cleveland rocks... so do the towns on the San Andreas fault.

How about "bike-in" cemeterys? When I was a kid living in the 6-mile & Van Dyke area, I used to bike through the Mt. Elliott cemetery on a regular basis. Nice ride!

Can anyone tell me where the M60 Mendon was/is located?
